Since March 2025, We've been crafting this world solo — engine and all from scratch! Your opinion and feedback are incredibly important. Follow the progress, lore, and development secrets here!

Grokvil is a retro cRPG with a fully open world, featuring:

A Living World:

- 3,280,000 square meters of playable area

- 2,400 additional quests beyond the main storyline

- 800 unique NPCs, each with their own story and role to play

Retro:

- Classic-style 3D engine: A fully polygonal world with dynamic lighting, using 2D sprites instead of 3D models, as in the legendary Daggerfall

- Authentic palette of only 20 colors on screen (echoing the 16-color limits of 1987 GPUs)

- Game resolution 256x256 (as in 1987 computers: Macintosh II, IBM PC, Amiga 500)

Dynamics:

- Live NPCs with unique daily schedules, such as work, relaxing in a tavern, etc.

- The dynamic change of day and night affecting the world

- Join one of four factions fighting for power in the country, or forge your own path!
